  • 8 oz or 250 gram cheese cubes
  • 5 medium sized tomatoes chopped
  • 3 green chilies
  • 1 Inch ginger peeled off and chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2/3 Cup of fresh cream
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder or allspices powder
  • 1 tbsp dried and crushed fenugreek leaves
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required


  1. Use a blender and add tomatoes, ginger and green chilli and make a fine paste. Transfer it to a bowl and set it aside.

  2. Take a saucepan and melt butter. Add cumin powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder, stir and roast it for a minute. Now pour the tomato paste and mix it well.

  3. Switch the flame to medium high and add the red chilli and fenugreek leaves and cook it until the sides start separating the butter. Stir occasionally. Butter will start separating in no more than 5 minutes.

  4. Add salt, garam masala powder and fresh cream into the sauce. Mix it well and add 1 cup of water. Stir gently and cook for 2 minutes so the cream doesn’t burn.

  5. Now, reduce the flame to low medium and wait until bubbles start pops out from the sauce.

  6. Add cheese cubes into the sauce and mix it nicely so the cheese sink into the sauce and get flavor of the sauce.

  7. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes and add coriander leaves. Mix it well.

  8. Shift it to serving bowl and garnish with the butter and fresh cream. Serve it hot with bread of your choice. Butter naan can be the best to make a pair with this recipe.
