I often like to bake red potatoes on a very high flame that makes the potatoes brown and sizzle for a crispy and delicious taste.

  • 4 medium sized red potatoes
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/3 teaspoon of onion powder
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Cooking spray


  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degree.

  2. Wash the potatoes in running water then cut the potatoes into 1 inch cubes or your desired shape. Don't peel off the potatoes.

  3. Take a bowl and add potatoes, oil and all the spices. Combine everything gently.

  4. Use a shallow baking pan and spray evenly on all sides using cooking spray. Now, at the bottom of baking pan shift the potatoes here for baking process.

  5. Bake the potatoes for 25 to 35 minutes. Baking time depends upon the size of potatoes you are using. For small potatoes 25 minutes is sufficient while for medium sized potatoes 30 to 35 minutes is good enough.

  6. You also check after first 15 minutes and stir fry so potatoes can be browned from all the sides.

Recipe Notes

The cube size of red potatoes decides what will be the baking time. For 1 inch cubes 25 to 30 minutes is more than enough for them to nicely done. Time varies as the cubes go bigger and smaller in size.

Which potatoes is the best?

The decision of choosing the right potatoes for these quick and easy potato recipes plays an important role. A good purpose potato is always best for the job.

However, skinny red small size potatoes bake nicely and come to very crispy and fantastic taste.

If you don’t like red potatoes then you may go for all-purpose round white potatoes but make sure to pick middle to small size only because large potatoes cannot be of good taste when baked.
