On a dinner night if you are searching a dish that takes your minimal of effort and delivers a perfect taste then go make leg of lamb recipe slow cooker. - 4 lb or 1600 gram of boneless lamb leg roast
- 1 tsp of white pepper
- 4 thymes

- 1 cup of red wine
- 1 medium-sized chopped onion
- 2 bay leaves
- 6 cloves of minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons of rosemary
- 1/2 cup of chopped celery
- 1/4 cup of all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 5 cups of lamb stock
- 1/2 tsp of ground black pepper
- Kosher salt
Wash the leg of lamb in running water then pat dry using a kitchen towel making sure there is no moisture on the leg of lamb.
Now using black pepper and kosher salt rub it on the leg of lamb pieces inside out and deep into the cracks you find.
Take fresh chopped thyme, white pepper, minced garlic and rosemary and mix everything well. Use this mixture to rub on the leg of lamb on all asides and everywhere evenly. You can transfer this to a refrigerator to marine overnight or use it right after rubbing or marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Use a slow cooker and add wine, chopped onions, celery and bay leaves. Shift the marinated to Crockpot and slow cook for 5 to 6 hours.
After cooking remove the meat and check for the chunky shreds of the leg of lamb using a fork. You can also alternatively roast it for 2 to 3 hours in your oven at 350 degrees F. Add the reserved lamb stock to bowl to let it come to normal temperature.
Use a skillet and heat the butter on medium flame until it completely melts down. In a bowl add the all purpose flour with a little lamb broth and whisk it well then add this to skillet and stir for 2 to 3 minutes the raw taste will get away.
Add 5 to 6 tablespoons of lamb broth to the skillet and wait until the gravy comes to your desired consistency or thicken nicely. Season the gravy with the black pepper and kosher salt. Cook for the last 2 minutes after mixing the seasoning.
You should always go for the fresh leg of lamb than stored frozen leg of lamb or thawed leg of lamb. It is a good idea to trim the leg of lamb so the recipe becomes fewer oils or fat will leave oil from it.
You can add sliced potatoes and carrots to the bottom pan to make this dish healthy and veggie or to have a little different version. It is important that you use fresh vegetables than stored frozen veggies.
If you want to enhance the flavor of the dish you should sear the meat before you add this to the crock pot for the cooking process.
To add more flavors to this recipe you can use allspice powder and some of your favorite herbs at the last stage of cooking to make this dish tastier.
