  • 4 medium-sized avocados
  • 1/2 cup of finely chopped onion
  • 1 chopped jalapeño
  • 3 tablespoons of cilantro leaves
  • 3 tablespoons of fresh lime juice
  • A pinch of ground coriander
  • kosher salt
  • Black pepper to taste

  1. Remove the seeds of jalapeño and remove the ribs then
chopped and reserve it for cooking. Similarly, ripe and pitted the avocados and
use a spoon to scoop the brown areas of avocados and reserve it for further

  2. Take a pastry cutter, potato masher or simply use a fork and mash up the
avocados and set it aside when it reaches to your desired texture. For me, I prefer

Although the traditional guacamole dish only requires 6 ingredients but in recent times chefs and cooks have been engaged in adding flavors and variations to this wonderful Mexican cuisine.

I would like to take chance to explain it in details so you never miss to make a delicious guacamole dish.

The first very important ingredient is the Avocados as much it the riper it gives you a great taste.

Red onions:

You can either use the diced onions or finely chopped onion; it is all up to you how you want to prepare this guacamole dish. I’d suggest you to rinse and drain the onions before you mash up with the avocados.

Cilantro leaves:

The Cilantro leaves added a wonderful flavor and a great aroma. More the fresh Cilantro leaves you are going to use better the taste will be.

Without the use of jalapeño this dish seems empty but if you insist you can replace the jalapeño with the Serrano pepper that gives almost the same taste.

Lime Juice:

Well, the lime juice seems to mention at the bottom but the tasty tangy flavor really does the real magic to the dish and make it more delicious. You can add more lime juice if you’re going to use the leftover for 2-3 days.

Kosher salt that is easily available to everyone is a must but you can also replace it with the fine sea salt.

Other ingredients for variations:

Using of herbs and spices like black pepper, ground cumin and ground coriander can gives this dish a variation. Diced red peeled tomatoes can add a great taste. I love tomatoes so I often prefer to use it with my recipe or any other time when I want.
