  • 3 Cups Of whole wheat flour or finely grounded wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 tbsp garlic finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Water as needed
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and add very hot water followed by dry yeast, sugar and salt. Stir it continuously with help of spoon until the dry yeast dissolves completely in water. Set it aside for 5 minutes.

  2. Take another bowl and add whole wheat, yoghurt, milk and prepared yeast water. Knead smooth and make very soft dough, if needed add more milk to bind the soft dough, avoid using water. Now, our dough is ready. Cover it well with moist kitchen towel and set it aside for 2-3 hours.

  3. Knead the dough once again for a while and make 8 equal round shaped balls after greasing a little oil on your palm. Use a plain surface and grease the base with little dry wheat flour and roll the ball on dry wheat flour so it gets coated easily.

  4. Now press the ball so it flattens a little and shift it to rolling board. Use a thick circle disc and roll it out about 6 inches long and ½ centimeter thick oval shaped bread.

  5. Sprinkle coriander leaves and garlic over it and press it so coriander leaves and garlic firmly joins into the bread. Turn the naan to meet the other surface and sprinkle a little water over it.

  6. Heat a pan/tava on medium flame and place the naan. Make sure coriander leaves and garlic pressed surface must be on front and wet side down. Within minute tiny bubbles will appear, turn it upside down and cook the other side as well.

  7. Now, remove it from tava and shift it on serving plate. Brush it with butter as you require and serve it hot with your favorite curry or gravy recipe.
