Many of you might aware with the fried rice recipe but a few of you who don’t know to have a great time knowing how to make fried rice recipe and prepare this handy and a fully different and easy to prepare the dish. This is a very healthy dish so at the time when your family starts finger licking you would be proud to make it again and again.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of Basmati rice
  • 4 pieces of chopped garlic
  • 1 carrot grated or finely sliced
  • 1/4 cup of capsicum finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup of beans finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup of finely chopped cabbage
  • 1/4 cup of green onion
  • 2 green chillis slit
  • 1/4 cup of mushroom chopped
  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil or olive oil
  • 1 tsp of mustard seeds
  • 1 star anise (optional)
  • 1 mace or javitri
  • 1 tbsp of soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp of vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash thoroughly all the vegetables one by one in running water. Shift them to a large bowl and set it aside.

  2. Gently rinse and wash the basmati rice and transfer it to a bowl full of water for next 30 minutes so it soaks the water for a nice cooking while you prepare rest of the things.

  3. After 30 minutes shift the basmati rice to a pressure cooker and cook it until 1 whistle. You can add a half tablespoon of clarified butter to soften the rice. We can even precook the basmati rice before we use here in this dish.

  4. Take a pan on medium flame and heat the oil. Add the cumin seeds, finely chopped garlic, star anise and mace. Roast it until magical aroma comes out of the spices.

  5. Add the slit chillies and one by one add all the vegetables. Make sure you have chopped and sliced them before you start cooking the fried rice recipe.

  6. Add vinegar, soya sauce and salt. Stir fry until everything mixes well.


  7. Now, add the cooked basmati rice and black pepper powder until everything mixes well. Turn off the flame and serve fried rice hot.

Recipe Notes

We have used basmati rice to cook this recipe but you are free to choose your desired taste of rice. Basmati rice gives a nice aroma and wonderful look.

I haven't used the ajinomoto in this dish because many local stores and shop vendors don’t have it. This is also not good for health but gives a nice taste, indeed.

Many chefs like to add Ajinomoto to the fried rice dish because it brings a great twist of taste but I prefer not to use it since Ajinomoto is very bad for health. In case you are after a sounding fried rice dish then don’t forget to add Ajinomoto. I like to cook healthy dishes like how to make fried rice recipe than anything that plays with your health doesn’t sound good at all.

Many people don’t like to eat spicy dishes but in case you do don’t forget to add green chili sauce or red chili sauce for a spicy taste.

Well, I am sure not all the vegetables are available in all seasons or if they do then they could be costly for time being. So, choosing the right vegetables is less important than choosing the healthy vegetables.
