  • 8 oz or 250 gram Cheese cubes
  • 3 tbsp of all purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp of corn flour
  • 1 tbsp of ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tbsp of Kashmiri red chilli or paprika powder
  • 1/4 tbsp of black pepper powder
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 spring onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp of grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp of very finely chopped garlic
  • 1 capsicum thin sliced
  • 2 tbsp of soya sauce
  • 2 green chillis slit
  • 1 tbsp of red chilli sauce
  • 1/4 tbsp of vinegar
  • Sugar to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp of spring onion for garnishing

  1. Use a deep bowl and add corn flour, all purpose flour, ginger, garlic, black pepper, paprika powder and salt. Now, take a spoon or spatula mix water gently by adding little by little to form a fine and smooth paste of the mixing ingredients. While mixing makes sure there are no solid remains and you end up forming smooth batter.
  2. Now use cheese cubes and add this to batter. Using your finger or spoon move the cheese cubes gently into the batter so cheese gets nice coat of batter. Do this for all cheese cubes and set it aside.

  3. Take a pan and heat a little oil on high flame. When the oil becomes hot, shift the flame to medium and use coated cheese cubes to deep fry in the pan. Toss the cheese cubes and shallow fry from all sides until it turns light golden brown in color. Do this in batches and after each batch shift the shallow fry cheese cubes onto paper so it absorbs unnecessary oil from the cheese cubes.

  4. Using the same pan and leftover oil add the garlic, ginger and green chilli and fry in on medium flame for 15 seconds then add the onion and stir fry for 2 minutes. Now, add the spring onion and capsicum. Fry everything together for the next 2 minutes.

  5. Add the soya sauce and red chili sauce and mix it well. Add half cup of water or your desired gravy and let it simmer.

  6. On other side, in a small bowl add corn flour with 2 tablespoon of water and make a fine paste. Shift this paste to the recipe and mix it nicely. Now, you will realize the gravy becomes thick in consistency or you can wait until it turns to thick gravy.

  7. Once it turns into your desired gravy add the cheese cubes, sugar, and salt. After mixing everything together let it simmer for next 2 minutes. Turn off the flame and garnish the chilli paneer with chopped spring onions.
