Learning how to make chicken shawarma recipe is of a great fun and you will have a mild spicy taste of chicken taste that is really a mouth-watering. The fried chicken with the spices and all-purpose flour cooked and roll in prepared bread gives a splendid taste you might go to explore for the very first time.
- 2 lbs or 450 gram of boneless chicken breasts
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour or whole wheat flour
- 2 medium-sized onions finely sliced
- 1 medium-sized tomatoes peeled and chopped
- 1 cucumber peeled and chopped
- 2 tablespoons of ginger garlic paste
- Mayonnaise sauce as required
- 1/2 tablespoon of mustard powder
- 1 tablespoon of chilli sauce
- 1/2 cup of yogurt
- 1 tablespoon of red chilli powder
- 3 tablespoons of vinegar
- Oil as required
- Salt to taste
Wash the chicken in running water then pat dry chicken pieces using a kitchen towel so no moisture remains on the chicken. Cut the chicken pieces into 2 inches long and 1 inch wide or into your desired shapes.
Take a bowl and add ginger garlic paste, chili sauce, mustard powder, red chili powder, 1 tablespoon of oil and salt. Mix it well to make a fine marinade.
Use the marinade to rub onto the chicken pieces from all sides. Shift the bowl to a refrigerator to marinate for the next 30 to 45 minutes or overnight for a better result.
Add 2 cups of all-purpose flour or whole wheat flour into a vessel and by adding little by little water make a fine dough by kneading it. Take a small portion from the dough and roll it on plane surface into 4-inch diameter shape or of your desired size. Make the bread of it.
Use a medium-sized pan and heat 3 tablespoons of oil on medium heat. Add the chicken pieces into the pan and stir fry for next 20 to 25 minutes until the chicken cooked inches.
Use the prepared bread and make a layer using Mayonnaise sauce. Then make another layer by adding 2 tablespoons of chicken shawarma. Make another layer by topping sliced onions, chopped tomatoes, chopped cucumber and chili tablespoon of yogurt.
Do the same process to make the roll of using bread and other ingredients. Our chicken shawarma is ready now. Serve it hot with chili sauce, green chutney or tomato ketchup.
