  • 2 pound baby back pork ribs
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp hot chilli sauce
  • 2 tbsp light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  1. First, preheat the oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. If the ribs you got from the store still have the thin membrane on the back of the rack, take it off. Make sure to season both sides of the ribs with salt and pepper. Then place the ribs meat-side-up in a large roasting pan or rimmed baking sheet.

  3. Keep in mind that you may have to cut the ribs in half in order for them to fit into the pan properly. Cover the ribs tightly using aluminium foil. Bake the meat until it can easily fall off the bones. This should take about 3-4 hours total.

  4. For the barbeque sauce, begin heating the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Put the onions in and cook until translucent. Throw in the cumin and start stirring. Add the ketchup, hot chili sauce, brown sugar and apple cider vinegar next. Stir these ingredients until they are thoroughly combined. Set aside until the ribs are done roasting in the oven.

  5. Remove the ribs from the oven, throwing away the aluminium foil and brushing both sides with the barbeque sauce. Don’t be afraid to apply the sauce liberally for a nice full taste.

Recipe Notes

Remember that you don’t want to leave the ribs in the oven any longer than 4 hours, otherwise they won’t turn out very good at all.
