  • 12 lbs or 5 1/2 kilogram of apples
  • 4 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of apple pie spice
  • 1 inch of nutmeg
  • 10 cups of water
  • Sure gel
  • Kosher salt


  1. Wash the apples in running water and shift this to a bowl and let it moist free then shift this to another moist free bowl. Slice the apples into small pieces.

  2. Take a saucepan and heat on low flame. Add apples, 4 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 tablespoon of ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of apple pie spice, 1 inch of nutmeg, 10 cups of water, sure gel and kosher salt. Cook everything while combining every now and then.

  3. While leaving the headspace add the cooked apples.

  4. Simmer the syrup in the same used pan for 20 minutes or until it thickens well. For making a better apple pie filling recipe you can add sure gel or cornstarch when everything is ready for a longer life of pie filling.

  5. Take a funnel and use this to shift syrup into the apples filled jar. You can use a spoon or something to push into the syrup making enough space to add the syrup in the jar.

  7. Now take a deep saucepan and add plenty of water (make sure it covers the jar completely) and boil it for 5 minutes or when it is close to comes to boil.

  8. Take the jar to this hot water and turn off the flame. Let it process for 20 minutes then take it out of the water and cool it down itself. Do not touch the jar lead. If you happen to touch the seal of the jar or is accidentally open it then reprocesses it again.
