- 1 cup of all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 8 apples finely sliced
- 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
- 4 tablespoons of white sugar
- 3 tablespoons of all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- A pinch of nutmeg
Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F.
For making topping
Take a medium-sized mixing bowl and add 1 cup of all purpose flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 4 tablespoons of butter. Use a fork to combine everything nicely and it comes to crumbly texture.
For making filling
In a mixing bowl add the lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, all purpose flour and sugar and mix them nicely. Now add the sliced apples into the mixture and shake the bowl or toss the apples so it gets well coat of the spices mixture.
Take a pie shell and add all the apples by layering in pie shell and pour the spices mixture, if leftover. Now, add the reserved topping over the apple and pat it down in the pie shell. Place the pie pan to a cookie sheet.
Shift the pie shell to the oven and bake it on 450 degrees F for next 15 minutes. After 15 minutes turn the temperature to 350 degrees F and bake it for another 50 minutes while keeping an eye for checking the brownness.
