Homemade apple pie pastry recipe can never be intimidating but I tell you it is super quick and very easy to make in an easy way at home. - 2 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
- 7 tablespoons of chilled water
- Kosher salt
- 3 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup of chilled unsalted butter
Sliced the butter into tablespoons sized pieces or sliced them into cubed size pieces.
Take a large sized mixing bowl and add all purpose flour, butter, and kosher salt. Make a nice mixture of the ingredients either into a food processor or kneading it using a whisker or your hands.
Take a small size bowl and add ice chilled water and apple cider vinegar.
Pour the water-vinegar mixture into large pan over the flour mixture. By adding little by little mix or need it through until everything combines well. Make sure there are no lumps remain and you end up having a fine smooth dough.
Take a flat wooden surface and shift the dough onto it. Pat the dough and form a round shape circle then divide them into half equal semi-circle pieces. Make sure you have made at least 5-inches round shaped pastry.
Take each of the semi-circle pastry and transfer it to a plastic wrap and shift them both to a refrigerator for a minimum of 30 to 45 minutes.
